Composition - the visual form of music and artists are the composers - a given space, how you put it together, how you showcase your artwork in spaces, e.g galleries, on pdfs etc. - The arrangement of a piece using a number of techniques

The 7 visual elements:

Line - the visual path that enables the eye to move around the piece, the flow of the artwork
Shape - areas defined by edges within a piece, hard or soft edges, areas that are positioned to fit together to make up a piece
Colour - hues, saturation, suggestion of meaning behind colour and seperation of them within a piece
Texture - surface quality that can feature to create illusions
Tone - hues not white or black, highlights and shadows
Space - positive or negative spaces that make up a piece
Depth - the percieved distance made up of multple grounds, background, foreground, middle ground

The 8 principles of art:

Rhythm - creating a visual tempo through the use of repetative elements
Balance - the arrangement of elements in a piece to create balance
Emphasis - the arrangement of elements in a piece to create emphasis
Gradation - the gradual change of an element to create a flow of gradation
Harmony - using similar elements to create a general sense of harmony
Variety - using different elemnts to create contrast
Movement - creating movement through elements, e.g. short bar strokes rather than long muted strokes
Proportion - the relative size of one element in relation to another

Simplification

Using a limited colour palette
Reduce detail of uniportant areas
Use a limited value range between your darkest dark and lightest light
Use larger paint brushes to simplify the detail in your painting
Remove unecessary subjects from your painting

Rule of odds - even numbers create symmetry which is more unrealisti and gives the viewer a more comforting feel, whereas an odd number of elements becomes more realistic
Rule of thirds - ensures the focal point of a piece is not central to avoid it being overly symmetrical, but works best if none of your nine sections is the same and the focal point is in one of the intersections (the golden mean ratio)
Geometry and Symmetry - triangles are an aesthetically pleasing shape in a composition, e.g used by Paul Cezanne, to create a sense of stability and strength

Lateral Thinking (Edward De Bono) - Conscious analysis, a thinking tool, a manner of solving problems via an unconventional and creative approach, non-linear thinking used to change the world. Re-frame your perspectives, evaluate the conditions of a task, stay open to possibilities.

Decision making e.g.Thinking about a given space, consider: Right space? Too big or small? Right position? right colour in this space? Suit the space?

Presentation - start strong, grab their attention from the beginning, don't make the slides entirely text and read from them - you can add keywords and expand on them and add visuals, don't make text centrally aligned, unless poem or greetings card etc., say and show the right image, don't add decoration - keep it simple to attract the attention to your art, practice your presentation and what you want to say - showing you have rehearsed shows your engagement and gives a strong impression and will clearly communicate your presentation, prepare questions for the client and what they may ask you - think about how you will evolve your work and write specific questions concerning your work to get the right information, don't include badly drawn or rushed images - use photo-bashing to quickly advance your drawings and images to produce a superior outcome for the purpose of best visual communication, to enhance your proposal, photo-bashing - combining drawings/paintings with photographs.
